BLACK PANTHER: THE ALBUM - The King of Wakanda meets The King of Compton

This is it. This is the day that we have been waiting for. Today,  February 16, 2018, Marvel's heavily anticipated Black Panther Film starring Chadwick Boseman, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong'o, and Michael B. Jordan is now in Theaters for us to experience. In October 2014, Black Panther was announced to be in the Captain America: Civil War movie. Not too long after this feature, the buzz started to go around about the future King of Wakanda was going to have his own movie. And who better to develop the soundtrack of this film than the King of Compton himself, Kendrick lamar.

While he may have officially announced his involvement with the film on January 31, the day before Black History Month, with a tweet, he actually warned us much sooner. In lAte December of last year, Lamar dropped the official video for his song "Love". In one shot there was a clapperboard that reading "B.Panther soundtrack coming soon". After three singles that were dropped varying from New Jersey NatiVe SZA to The Weeknd, the sound of Wakanda was released. on the ninth of February.

Now, it''s been a week since we been listening to the album and while, personally, I've heard nothing but positive reviews, there are some who feel that the album was underwhelming, some went as far to say that the Black Panther film deserved better. What do you guys think? What's your favorite song? Are you popping out for at the movie theater? What food are you bringing in from home? Keep the conversation going in the comment section below.

See you all in Wakanda!
